About Michael Cannon

Michael Cannon is a professional civil engineer, married, and father of two.  He loves attending all kinds of motorsports events.  Most notably, He has been to the Indy 500 twice (1992 won by Al Unser, Jr. & 2003 won by Gil DeFerran), the Brickyard 400 (2003 won by Kevin Harvick) and the Daytona 500 (2009 won by Matt Kenseth).  Thanks primarily to SpeedTV coverage, he has been following Formula 1 racing very closely for years, but he has yet to see a F1 race in person.  He does dream of attending the Grand Prix of Monaco and the Belgian Grand Prix someday.  As a child, he remembers watching and admiring Alain Prost and the late Ayrton Senna when they were teammates at McLaren, and he has been watching F1 ever since.

He has been playing various free fantasy racing contests since 2003, and in 2005, his wife and himself took a trip to Las Vegas that he won as a grand prize in a fantasy stock car racing contest.  As part of that trip, he was awarded the experience of driving a stock car around Las Vegas Motor Speedway for 30 laps, which was one of the most memorable experiences of his life.  Since then, he has been reasonably successful in many free fantasy racing contests covering many different forms of racing.  His favorite quote, which has served him well in his Fantasy Racing endeavors, is from an old Roman philosopher, named Seneca:  'Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.'  “Let's have fun with the 2013 Formula GP Challenge and good luck to everyone with their picks!”

Pilar Lastra is our charming expert predictor for this 2013 Season.

About Pilar Lastra :

Cars have always obsessed Pilar Lastra. After high school, she made her way out to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Antonio, Texas, by rebuilding an old Mustang and driving it out to Hollywood. She teamed up with fellow Playmate Deanna Brooks to represent Playboy for Mazda's MX-5 Cup, getting racing lessons from the Mazda team along the way.

Pilar Lastra landed her first acting job in an independent film titled, "Malibu Spring Break" where she played the role of Gloria. The marketing of "Malibu Spring Break" caught the eye of Playboy's Senior Photo editor and soon Pilar Lastra found herself gracing the pages of Playboy in her birthday suit, becoming Miss August 2004!

Becoming a Playboy centerfold gave Pilar Lastra a sense of confidence and power. Knowing the typical stereotypes that playmates are given Pilar Lastra worked twice as hard to take that title and prove that above having sex appeal she has class, intelligence and talent.

That thirst for success soon landed several other independent films, including guest shots on soaps and Las Vegas. Soon, Pilar Lastra found herself on the NBC hit show "Deal or No Deal" as briefcase model number 8. Aside from acting and modeling, Pilar Lastra also decided to expand her horizons and is the host of The Playmate Hour, a one-hour slumber party talk show on Playboy Radio, Sirius channel 198.

Learning the maintenance of a car by learning to work on her own car along with all her unforgettable dating experiences inspired her to write "Treat Me Like Your Car... A Man's Guide to Treating a Lady."

Pilar Lastra discovered Formula One at the Spa GP last year. Since then she became a F1 aficionado especially since she discovered that her origin was close to Alonso: her dad lives close by to Alonso village.
